Post-Submission thoughts


Things that were intended to be implemented but I ran out of time:

1) Upgrade system for cargo hold: Intended to be a 4x3 grid, upgrading to a total of 6x7 (which is 42 by the way). This would allow for tougher decisions on cargo that you have to scrap, as well as more "large size" and up containers the longer you play.

2) Refueling and repair stations at least at space stations and earth, possibly all the planets where you collect/drop off cargo.

3) Pictures for the cargo cards, cargo boxes that aren't just colored squares.

4) More random encounters, possibly actual combat with the space pirates.

5) "Galactic Hitchhikers" originally intended to go into a separate "Passenger Quarters" area, which will also have a few upgrades.

6) Sounds and music. I played around with SFXR and Bosca Ceoil before the jam started, but again, time was an issue for me.

7) Better "non-programmer" graphics :)

8) If you haven't noticed, there are a few "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" references in this thing, because 42.

9) I was also intending to include a stylized "-1" that flew off of the nav map HUD every time you took damage, just for fun because a lot of people suggested "-1" should be the theme this time around :)

Things that really still need to be done:
1) Bug fix for the game SHOULD end AS SOON AS you run out of fuel/hull/credits or exceed 1 million credits, but for some reason it takes another move or 2 sometimes

2) Sound and Graphics

3) I need sleep :)
